Around 1742 Bach made a fair copy of a work comprising 14 movements. The work was then untitled, and it was not until 1747 that Bach formulated the title Die Kunst der Fuge [The Art of Fugue]. The governing idea of the work was an exploration in depth of the contrapuntal possibilities inherent in a single musical subject. The carefully constructed subject would generate many movements, each dem...
Mozart: Quartet in F. KV370 [The Telemann Ensemble]
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.12 лет назад
Mozart probably composed this piece in 1781 when he was in Munich for the staging of his new opera Idomeneo. The work was, perhaps, written for the Mannheim oboist Friedrich Ramm who was in the group of wind-players for whom Mozart had earlier written the Sinfonia Concertante K297. This late 1960's performance was by the Irish quartet, The Telemann Ensemble. Lindsay Armstrong [oboe], Thérèse Ti...

A brief look at the scene in O'Connell Street, Dublin on 17th March 1992. Many of those participating who came from afar were able to reconnect with their families in Ireland. At least one of the girls who marched with the St. Patrick's High School band from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada did just that. It was lovely to see her.

Very Nice Yo Yo Ma ❤️ God bless you

Павел Тигранович прекрасен.
I recorded this on my VCR when I was a teenager and watched it so many times. I love it still to this day. So good.
❤
He perfectly understand Mussorgsky’s aesthetics and sorrows , so his performance is inspirational and spectacular . From Tokyo of Japon
Nice rendition, Yo-Yo Ma's temperament fits romantic music! Where is the venue? (the word "thème" is masculine in French)
We were playing a gig in The Rock Garden that day. I accidentally bumped into a young American baton twirler whilst desperately running across Dame Street. She was not happy and made her feelings about me abundantly clear. I did apologise before the tirade of abuse began....
I love Fred Karpoff’s style
Genius, Rachmaninov and Nersessian
a small treasure of all nocturnes in history... This nocturne makes my mind travel to somewhere in Europe. A place which has a street with no ends. (What a beautiful experience I'm passing through..) Anyways, amazing interpretation! :-)
Wonderful artistry, musicianship and great pianism! Bravo!!!
